Taiwan holds dramatic civilian war drills after China military exercises

Description

Taiwan kicked off civil defence drills in its central Taichung city on Thursday days after Beijing concluded war games around the island. The pre-planned annual series of drills, which help to raise readiness for natural disasters and other emergencies, were modified to include elements of warfare following the war in Ukraine and a heightened sense of threat from neighbouring China.
