Devastation after a series of strikes in Ukraine's second-largest city of Kharkiv in the north east of the war-scarred country left at least five dead and 20 injured.
Moscow denies attacking Ukrainian civilians, but the recent torrent of strikes on Kyiv suggest a concerted strategy with clear objectives.
Smoke rises from the western Ukrainian city of Lviv after fresh Russian missile strikes. Writing on social media, the city's mayor, Andriy Sadovyi, has said "ninety percent of the city is without electricity" and warned of additional cuts in water supply. IMAGES
Odesa regional authorities said electricity for the city’s population will be restored “in the coming days”, while complete restoration of the networks may take two to three months.
Civilian and energy infrastructure was targeted in the regions of Kyiv, Odessa, Vinnytsya, and Zaporizhzhia. A few hours before this wave of missiles, Ukrainian forces likely conducted strikes on Russian strategic airbases.
