Britain said farewell to Queen Elizabeth II on Monday at a historic state funeral attended by world leaders, before a ceremonial journey past hundreds of thousands of mourners to her final place of rest.
On Eldon Square, in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne, mourners gather to watch Queen Elizabeth II's funeral on a big screen, with many in the crowd visibly emotional at the monarch's passing. "I'm not ashamed to say, I've actually shed tears. It hit me harder than I ever thought it would," retired serviceman Steve Baker admits.
Queen Elizabeth's cortege arrives at her final resting place in Windsor Castle. Slowly travelling the town's Long Walk, which is packed full with mourners, the late queen's flag-draped coffin makes its final journey to the tune of pipes and drums. Inside the castle, her crown, orb and sceptre will be removed and placed on the altar at a committal service. IMAGES
