NATO's Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, announces that a nuclear war "will have severe consequences for Russia" during a press conference following Russian President, Vladimir Putin, signing an annexation accord with the Kremlin-installed leaders of four occupied Ukrainian regions. SOUNDBITE
NATO Foreign Ministers meet following Russia's shelling of a nuclear power plant in Ukraine as the conflict intensifies. Ukraine has accused the Kremlin of "nuclear terror", after Europe's largest atomic power plant was attacked and taken over, sparking Western horror at the threat of Russia's war contaminating all of Europe. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg says Ukraine has an "urgent, critical need for more air defence", at a G7 foreign ministers meeting on Capri. Ukraine has struggled on the battlefield for months, outgunned and outnumbered by Russian forces amid a shortage of Western military aid. SOUNDBITE
NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg says Ukraine "simply cannot wait" for more air defences as Kyiv pleads with Western allies to step up deliveries to stave off Russia's attacks. Speaking in Brussels, during a press conference alongside Finland's President Alexander Stubb, Stoltenberg says "delays in funding are having direct consequences on the ground every day." SOUNDBITE
