Showcar with Audi F1 launch livery reveal Spa-Francorchamps

Description

By entering the highest class of motorsports in 2026, Audi is tackling its most challenging ambition to date: combining sustainability, innovation, and maximum performance in motorsports. Audi’s decision hinged on the new regulations introduced by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). Among other things, the FIA requires using sustainable synthetic fuels from 2026 and increasing the power unit’s electric share by up to 50 percent. Audi intends to actively drive the transformation of what is by far the world’s most important motorsports series. The power unit will be developed at the Neuburg an der Donau site. In the future, the Formula 1 program will spearhead the factory’s motorsports activities.

  • Kimi Raikkonen explains the F1 circuit of Spa 2018

"Summer’s not over yet, but the Formula 1 summer break of definitely is. Scuderia Ferrari went back to work in full swing this week and now its drivers, Seb Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen, are preparing for the race weekend at Spa-Francorchamps, a track that everyone loves. Four-time Spa winner Kimi added: “I really like the layout of this circuit, driving here is great. I preferred the old part of the track , at the Bus stop chicane, but apart from that bit, the circuit hasn’t changed too much. This place always brings good racing, so it’s nice for us and also for the spectators. We’ll see what the weather holds; here it can change very quickly, it might rain in one place and the next corner it can be dry. We’ll need to adapt the best that we can. As any other race it’s a bit of an unknown where we are going to be against the others; we will find out over the weekend and especially on Sunday. We’ll keep doing the same job we have done so far and then we’ll see what the outcome is”. "

  • F1 Hardest braking point GP Belgium 2018

"After the long summer break the Formula 1 starts again and, as usual, the engines are rekindled at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, venue from 24 to 26 August of the GP Belgium, 13th round of the 2018 World Championship. Immersed in the Ardennes hills, it is unanimously considered the most complete track of the World Championship for the combination of fast corners, blind bends, slope changes and endless straights. Formula 1 is back for the fifty first time but over the years the track has changed a lot: from 2007 it measures 7.004 meters, which makes it the longest in the World Championship. Distinguished by 19 curves, however, only boasts 4 braking characterized by very high energy. The cooling of the braking systems is assured by the presence of fast corners like the Eau Rouge and the Blanchimont where the brakes are not involved in the least. An unknown factor is represented by the weather: last year in the race the air temperature touched 24 degrees while in 2014 it did not exceed 16 degrees. According to Brembo technicians, who have classified the 21 tracks of the World Championship, the Circuit de Spa-Franchorchamps falls into the category of circuits that are not very demanding for the brakes."
