In Berlin, people demonstrate in support of the demonstrations in Iran, as the nationwide protests sparked by the death in custody of Mahsa Amini are entering a sixth week. The death of 22-year-old Amini, after her arrest for allegedly breaching Iran's strict dress code for women, has fuelled the biggest protests seen in the Islamic republic for years. IMAGES

The Russian Prison Service (FSIN) has said Navalny, the Kremlin's most prominent critic, died in an Arctic prison where he was serving a 19-year sentence, after suffering a sudden illness. Several hundred demonstrators gather in Nanterre, near Paris, to protest the release from jail of a police officer who is accused of killing a teenager named Nahel on June 27.
