President-elect Joe Biden received a dose of the Pfizer and BioNTech coronavirus vaccine on Monday afternoon. The first shot in a series of two was administered at ChristianaCare Hospital in Newark, Delaware. Biden's vaccination came one week after the first doses of the vaccine were given to health care workers. Biden noted that the vaccine rollout was in the beginning stages and cautioned Americans about the long road ahead. According to CNN President-elect Biden cautioned Americans saying: "It's going to take time". Biden urged Americans in the meantime to listen to public health experts, wear masks and maintain social distance.
The family of President Donald Trump appears to be split on whether he should publicly concede the presidential election to named winner Joe Biden. CNN reports Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner is urging concession, as is First Lady Melania Trump. However, Trump's two adult sons, Eric and Donald Jr. are loudly exhorting allies to continue pressing on. Moments after CNN and other networks projected Biden's win, Trump tweeted Biden was 'rushing to falsely pose as the winner' and that the race is 'far from over.' A Biden-Harris campaign staffer says there has been no communication between Biden and Trump, or between the campaigns, since the race was called.
Dr. Jill Biden wants to be the only first lady to keep a full-time job as a teacher while serving in the role as first lady. In doing so, according to Business Insider, Biden would make history. She would become the only first lady in the role's 231-year history to do so. Biden has made clear in the past how important education and her profession are to her.

According to Business Insider, Obama congratulated president-elect Biden and vice president-elect Kamala Harris. Swing state Pennsylvania flipped blue Friday morning, allowing Biden to surpass the 270 electoral votes needed for a Biden-Harris administration. President Donald Trump scolded Biden on Twitter, although Biden himself did not name himself victor. Trump has not yet conceded, saying the election is still far from over.'
Three doctors spoke to Business Insider about the projection that Joe Biden has won the election. They are hopeful he will be spearheading the country's coronavirus response as of 2021. They are also hopeful that Biden will have science-led approach to the coronavirus. This would be "less stressful for healthcare providers", according to reports at Business Insider. But some are disheartened that the country's poor handling of COVID-19 did not change voting. Many assumed the mishandling under Trump would drive more voters to vote for Biden.
