Zelensky responds with thanks and says he looks forward to discussing more urgent military support, with the UK pledging additional supply of "hundreds" of both air-defence missiles and long-range attack drones to fend off Russia's invasion. Britain's Prime Minister Keir Starmer meets newly-appointed Welsh First Minister Eluned Morgan. Morgan, who was voted in on August 6 and is the first woman to lead Wales, replaced her short-lived predecessor Vaughan Gething who survived less than five months in office and resigned following rows over political donations and sacked ministers. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer lays flowers at the police cordon in Southport near the scene where three children were killed in a mass stabbing, with five other children and two adults seriously injured.
