A senior UN official condemns Russia for its "appalling assaults" on Ukraine which saw some 158 missiles launched, killing at least 30 people according to Kyiv. US President Joe Biden will announce new air defense weapons for Ukraine during a visit by President Zelensky Friday, the White House says. "President Biden will announce a new package of military assistance today that includes significant air defense capabilities to help Ukraine," National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan says during a briefing. At a meeting of defence ministers at the Tapa military base in Estonia, UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace announces that the UK will send Ukraine an additional 600 Brimstone missiles to help it deal with the Russian invasion. SOUNDBITE
"The United States does not have a biological weapons program. There are no Ukrainian biological weapons laboratories supported by the United States," US Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield tells the Security Council, strongly rejecting Russia's claim of such activity. SOUNDBITE
