False claims online and Russian propaganda have been sharing a video that allegedly shows proof that Germany sent Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine long before today's official announcement. These claims have been circulating online since spring 2022. In this edition of Truth or Fake we disprove these claims.

The German government has greenlit the shipment of "Leopard 2" tanks to Ukraine, according to reports in the German weekly Der Spiegel.
According to social media images, Leopard 2 tanks - just delivered to Ukraine after weeks of waiting - have been destroyed by Russia’s Wagner mercenary group.
