Many followers of outgoing far-right leader Jair Bolsonaro who refuse to accept election results in Brazil set fire to several vehicles and attempted to invade the Federal Police headquarters in the capital Brasilia. They call for military intervention.
The floors of Brazil's presidential palace lie strewn with glass from shattered windows, broken computer cables and used hand grenades, a day after supporters of former president Jair Bolsonaro stormed the seat of power in clashes that sparked international outrage. Brazil's Minister of Communications, Paulo Pimenta, describes the riot as "a coup d'etat" as president Lula vows that those involved "will be found and will be punished".
Brazilian President, Lula da Silva, has issued a statement 'rejecting' Sunday's riots as 'terrorist cts' and called on the population to defend ' peace and democracy.' Euronews International correspondent, Anelise Borges sent this report from Brazil.
