Record military spending: Ukraine war spurs highest investment since cold war

Military spending across the globe is at an all-time record high. European defense expenditures have hit their highest level since the end of the cold war. And Russia's invasion of Ukraine has thrown a harsh light on the continent's military readiness after decades of peace.
