Senegalese army veterans arrive in Dakar after France allows return

Description

The first of nine Senegalese army veterans, aged 85 to 96 who fought for France, arrive in Dakar after the French state dropped a condition stipulating that they must live in France for half the year or lose their French army pension. Following the decision in January, the veterans can now return home for good and continue receiving their monthly allowance of 950 euros ($1,000). IMAGES
