While the XC90 was the first Volvo to offer Apple Carplay integration, it is now also compatible with Android Auto. The Sensus infotainment system has gone through multiple updates in recent years, all of which have been adopted into the Volvo XC90. Where available, the Spotify music streaming service is integrated in the XC90.

The multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) segment has gained considerable popularity in recent years, especially in many parts of Asia. This is one of the main reasons why the EM90 is coming first to China, the world’s largest car market. Following the reveal of the already award-winning and fully electric EX30 small SUV earlier this year, the EM90 represents the second expansion of our model portfolio in quick succession. Both the EX30 and EM90 will help us to reach new audiences, cover more of the global automotive market and realise more profitable volume. The EM90 also reinforces our commitment to be a fully electric car maker by 2030. In coming years we’ll roll out a whole family of new, fully electric Volvo cars, delivering on everything our customers expect from a Volvo with zero tailpipe emissions. This renewed model portfolio will not only ensure that by 2030 we only sell fully electric cars around the globe, an important part of our sustainability commitments. It is also part of our journey towards profitable growth and becoming an industry leader in sustainable mobility.
Underlining its position as a leader in climate action, Volvo Cars has become the first car maker to sign up to the SteelZero initiative, which aims to increase demand for fossil-free steel and accelerate a transition to carbon neutrality in the global steel industry.By signing up to SteelZero, Volvo Cars commits itself to stringent CO2-based steel sourcing requirements by 2030 (see Notes to Editors). By 2050, all the steel it sources should be net-zero steel, which is in line with the company’s ambition to be climate neutral by 2040.Steel production is a major source of CO2 emissions for the automotive industry, averaging 33 per cent of all production-related emissions for a new Volvo car in 2021. Globally, steel production is responsible for around 7 per cent of all greenhouse gas emissions.SteelZero was launched by the Climate Group in partnership with ResponsibleSteel, a steel industry-wide standard and certification body which Volvo Cars has also joined. Through ResponsibleSteel, Volvo Cars gains access to reliable, third-party verified and audited information about its steel supply chain and relevant sustainability credentials, helping to ensure it is responsibly sourced.
