The EU vetoes the buyout of promising US cancer test startup Grail by biotech giant Illumina over fears the deal could one day create a monopoly. Illumina's takeover of fellow US company Grail would "stifle the ongoing innovation race between Grail and its rivals, and ultimately lead to less innovation, less choice and higher prices" says the European Commission. Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Massive studies have shown great things, says Business Insider. Two leading coronavirus vaccines are highly effective at preventing people from getting COVID-19. Top researchers are already pitching plans for additional studies. This research aims to answer a critical question... Will this also prevent transmission of the virus? The late, great French biologist Louis Pasteur once said, 'Chance favors the prepared mind.' A group of Dutch cancer scientists says they've discovered a pair of salivary glands that absolutely no one had ever noticed before. CNN reports the glands are hidden away in the skull, where the nasal cavity and the throat meet. The cancer researchers first came across the body part during a scan designed to look for tumorous growths. The 'unknown entity' cannot be seen on X-rays, or in ultrasound, MRI scans, or PET scans. Rather, the glands can only be seen in a new, highly advanced type of scan called PSMA PET/CT The scientists, from the Netherlands Cancer Institute, propose naming them 'tubarial glands.'
