Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky says he is hopeful of securing a quick deal to get fighter jets from Western partners, after meeting British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak at Chequers. Zelensky confirms the pair talked about the issue during a meeting at the prime minister's official country retreat northwest of London, adding that he was "very positive" about the prospect of creating a "jets coalition" for the war against Russia. In a speech to Parliament, UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace announces that the UK government will supply Storm Shadow long-range missiles to Ukraine to use in its war againt Russia. By doing so, the UK will become the first country to provide longer-range weapons to Kyiv. "I can confirm that the UK is donating Storm Shadow missiles to Ukraine," says Ben Wallace. SOUNDBITE

At a meeting of defence ministers at the Tapa military base in Estonia, UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace announces that the UK will send Ukraine an additional 600 Brimstone missiles to help it deal with the Russian invasion. SOUNDBITE
Rescuers work to clear up debris in Kyiv's southeastern Bortnychi district after a wave of missiles were fired on the Ukrainian capital. Local authorities say that air defences downed all 16 missiles that targeted Kyiv. IMAGES
Russian state-owned news agency RIA Novosti publishes images of the UK ambassador to Russia Deborah Bronnert arriving at the Russian Foreign Ministry headquarters.
