Security forces outside Ecuador's Presidential Palace after Congress dissolved

Security forces stand guard outside the Carondelet presidential palace in Quito after Ecuador's President Guillermo issued a decree dissolving the legislature. In dissolving Congress, Lasso also called upon the National Electoral Council (CNE) to call new elections. It is the first time a president in Ecuador has dissolved the legislature. IMAGES
