"I'm still trying to find my feet underneath me," Princeton professor David MacMillan tells a press conference after winning the Nobel Chemistry Prize -- an "incredibly surreal" experience, he says -- for his work developing a new tool to scale up chemical reactions in an environmentally friendly way, known as "organocatalysis." The Nobel prize in economics is awarded to American economist Claudia Goldin for helping understand the role of women in the labour market. The Harvard professor, who is the third woman to be awarded the prestigious economics prize, was given the nod "for having advanced our understanding of women's labour market outcomes," says Hans Ellegren, Secretary General of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
