This year's Golden Leopard went to Brazilian drama 'Rule 34' from director Julia Murat, in a ceremony which put women on top.
Cotillard was honoured with a lifetime achievement at the San Sebastian International Film Festival, as was Hollywood actor Johnny Depp.
Serbian film director Stefan Arsenijevic won the Crystal Globe in the main competition with “As far As I Can Walk”, or "Strahinja" in the original version, an epic film about migration and love.
