Seoul, Sep 29 (EFE).- The brother of a South Korean official shot to death last week by North Korean troops when they found him adrift in their territorial waters said Tuesday that he does not believe the victim wanted to defect, as Seoul says.Lee Rae-jin, brother of the official who died last week demanded Tuesday at a press conference held at the Seoul Foreign Correspondents Club an international investigation to clarify the "savage crime" against his brother given the contradictory versions both parties have given on the case.SOUNDBITES: BROTHER OF SOUTH KOREAN OFFICIAL KILLED BY NORTH KOREAN TROOPS, LEE RAE-JIN:1. "I would like to know what happened, how it was moving while it was still south of the western maritime border and also to find the body of my brother obtaining a precise explanation from the authorities," 2. "There was a golden window, of six hours, to rescue him in which the South Korean intelligence authorities were observing what was happening and no measures were taken to save him. And while my brother is accused of wanting to defect, the authorities seem to have confidence in the version of events that North Korea tells and all this makes my brother a criminal (trying to defect to the North is a crime in the South). I want to remember at this point that South Korea calls itself a democratic country with a rule of law ". 3.
