Los Angeles, US, Feb 8 (EFE, (Camera: Eugene Garcia).- This is the fourth time Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodovar has been nominated for an Oscar, this time for his most personal movie till date, a semi-autobiographical movie, in which he has drawn on his own experiences.SOUNDBITES OF FILM DIRECTOR PEDRO ALMODOVAR:"The first memory I had when I arrived is associated with the hotel, we went back to the first one, where we were when "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown" (which was nominated) and even the smell of the rooms is the same as 1989.""I don't think that period could be repeated because we are not coming from the same past.""We came from the enormous darkness of a dictatorship, then the explosion of freedom at the end of the '70s and throughout the '80s had to do with the rebirth of a country and a city.""I was shooting with the Super 8 at that time... so now I'd be making short movies for the internet. Everything has changed too much.""I miss this in the artists, both in those who are starting out and in the others, the absence of the [awareness of the] market. The fact that there was no market at all, for the songs, for fashion... things were born more spontaneously."
Lexus Europe has chosen Lisbon to host the UX Art Space by Lexus, a pop-up gallery illustrating Lexus’ ambition to move beyond automotive as a luxury lifestyle brand. In addition to displaying an exclusive prototype of the new Lexus UX, the gallery will feature immersive art works by emerging artists Inês Zenha and Bence Magyarlaki, Divine Southgate-Smith and Pedro Henriques, who were challenged by Lexus to deconstruct the new UX and present their interpretation of the new Lexus crossover. Natxo Checa, founder, director, curator and producer for the Zé dos Bois Gallery (ZDB), will be in charge of the UX Art Space executive production, alongside Carolina Grau, independent curator and expert in contemporary art, with extensive experience in international events and exhibitions.
