Thousands of people march through the streets of Glasgow to highlight the disconnect between the glacial pace of emissions reductions and the climate emergency already swamping countries across the world. The Scottish city is hosting the COP26 climate summit, where delegates from nearly 200 countries are meeting to hammer out how to meet the Paris Agreement goals of limiting temperature rises to between 1.5 and 2 degrees Celsius. At least 2,000 people attend an anti-government protest at Habima square in Tel Aviv, as the Israel-Hamas war nears its 100 days mark. The weekly Saturday protests in support of Palestinians returns to the streets of London, with police estimating around 15,000-20,000 in attendance. This comes a day after a US veto blocked a UN Security Council call for a ceasefire. Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip attacked Israel on October 7, killing about 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and taking around 240 hostages -- 138 of whom remain in Gaza, Israeli officials say. In response, Israel vowed to destroy Hamas and launched a military offensive in Gaza that has killed at least 17,490 people, mostly women and children, according to the Hamas-run territory's health ministry.
