Since its 2016 reintroduction, the legendary Africa Twin adventure-touring platform has undergone steady improvements aimed at carrying out its "True Adventure" ethos, and that is once again the case for the 2022 model year. The sporting- and off-road performance-oriented standard version now comes with the same rear carrier as its more distance riding-oriented Adventure Sports ES sibling. Meanwhile, that version gets a shorter windscreen for improved visibility. Both Africa Twin versions are compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and both are available with either a manual gearbox or Honda's advanced automatic Dual Clutch Transmission, which has a program change for 2022, delivering smoother shifting in the lower gears.
EICMA will also mark the public debut of the 24YM CRF1100L Africa Twin and its Adventure Sports variant, which carry a series of performance and practical updates for 24YM.Both models benefit from a 7% increase in maximum torque – delivered 750rpm earlier in the rpm range – thanks to changes in compression ratio, valve timing, intake ports and ECU settings. Revisions to the Dual Clutch Transmission gearbox bring earlier downshifts to match the new engine performance, improved cornering detection and a more natural feel on initial take off and between first and second gears.Practicality is improved with the addition of tubeless tyres for easier roadside repair, and a larger, 5 way adjustable screen. The CRF1100L Africa Twin itself will now be available for the first time with the option of Showa Electronically Equipped Ride Adjustment (Showa EERA), which offers optimised damping in all riding conditions, as well as the ability to change rear spring preload on the move via the 6.5in touchscreen display.The road-going capabilities of the CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports are heightened by a new 19” front wheel and wider front tyre, plus more weather protection from a broader front fairing and the larger screen, plus greater comfort from the more thickly-padded seat.

The new 22YM CB300R joins its siblings, the CB1000R, CB650R and CB125R in Honda’s unique Neo Sports Café naked line up.Honda’s new lightweight superstar – tipping the scales at just 144kg wet – features a free-revving, EURO5-compliant DOHC 4V 286cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 22.9kW peak power and 27.5Nm torque. The addition of an assist/slipper clutch allows smooth shifts and manages rear wheel ‘hop’ on rapid downshifting and hard braking.The frame mixes pressed and tubular steel for a tuned rigidity balance that gives great feedback to the rider. And, just like its larger siblings, the CB300R now features SFF-BP USD forks with 41mm diameter that offer increased feel, bump absorption and control. The front radial-mounted 4-piston caliper, hubless floating disc, IMU-controlled ABS and radial tyres add to the specification, as do a tapered steel handlebar, updated LCD instrument display and full LED lighting.Honda’s Neo Sports Café range reinterprets the café racer for the modern day, with ‘Mechanical Art’ key words in a design language originating in Honda’s R&D base in Rome. Following in the footsteps of previous journeys through Norway and South Africa, Honda's Adventure Roads returns in its third edition, scheduled for June 2021, to delve into Iceland's exclusive volcanic landscape on the CRF1100L Africa Twin.The first Adventure Roads featured 40 enthusiasts who, in the summer of 2017, set out on an 8-day, 3,500-kilometer journey from Oslo to the North Cape - Europe's northernmost point. On its return in 2019, the Adventure Roads traveled 3,700 km from coast to coast, from Durban to Cape Town in South Africa, exploring a variety of epic terrain and landscapes during 12 days full of adventure.By 2021, Honda Motor Europe will offer 30 Africa Twin owners the opportunity to pilot the new CRF1100L Africa Twin and CRF1100L Adventure Sports on a once-in-a-lifetime 11-day journey through the land of 'Fire and Ice', Iceland.
