The International Olympic Committee (IOC) confirmed Paris as a host city for the 2024 Olympic Games, 100 years after the French capital last staged the event, at a ceremony in Lima on Wednesday. The Lausanne-based IOC took the unprecedented step of awarding two games simultaneously.
