New Caledonia: Polls open for final vote on independence from France

People vote in Noumea after the 307 polling stations in New Caledonia, the French Pacific territory, open for a third referendum on independence from France. Independence supporters have decided to boycott the vote, following angry demands to call off the vote because of the Covid pandemic. IMAGES
