The build up to Dia de los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead, attracted thousands of revellers to Mexico City on Sunday for the annual Parade of the Catrinas. Thousands got their faces painted in the iconic Catrina style and paraded down Republic of Salvador Street in the nation's capital wearing all sorts of macabre but elegant costumes on Saturday.

Mexico City, Oct 27 (EFE).- The Zacatecan sculptor and painter Manuel Felguerez, the Chihuahuan muralist Aurora Reyes and the painter and architect Juan O'Gorman are some of the artists that certain museums in Mexico City hope to receive with face-to-face offerings on the Day of the Dead, which will be celebrated on Nov 2 this year. Personal objects, symbolic items and works of art have filled the premises of three museums in Mexico City that with the support of their neighborhood community in order to keep alive the memory of the artists and the tradition of the Day of the Dead despite the atypical celebration due to the pandemic.
