The leader of Poland's right-wing Law and Justice (PiS) party Jaroslaw Kaczynski casts his vote in Warsaw in the country's parliamentary election. According to the latest polls, his party is set to win. While critics say the PiS's judicial reforms violate the rule of law, pushing Poland away from its EU partners and ushering in a creeping authoritarianism, supporters hail its welfare measures, including a popular child allowance, pension and wage hikes, all aimed at creating an effective social safety net.
