The venue offers a modern street-food market experience with global food and drink offerings, and shops selling products made by artisans, as well as showcasing live music and works of local artists. Britain's King Charles III attends a tech and innovation showcase at Nairobi Garage, a coworking space in the Kenyan capital. Dubbed the ‘Silicon Savannah’, Kenya is currently the third largest start up eco-system in Africa, after South Africa and Nigeria. It is the 74-year-old British head of state's first tour of an African and Commonwealth nation since becoming king last year and comes just weeks before Kenya celebrates the 60th anniversary of independence in December. Queen Camilla visits the London clinic where her husband, King Charles is recuperating following a scheduled prostate surgery. Reports have said Charles, 75, was expected to spend two days in hospital and that he was 'doing well' after the surgery. Royal officials took the unusual step last week of issuing a bulletin on the king's health, disclosing that he had an enlarged prostate but the condition was benign. IMAGES
En route out of Nairobi National Park, King Charles III and Queen Camilla visit the park’s ivory burning site, an historic location where 12 tonnes of ivory were burnt by the former Kenyan President Daniel Arap Moi in 1989. Most of it was intercepted before entering the market, stored, then burnt to show Kenya’s commitment to the conservation of elephants, and zero tolerance to the ivory trade. IMAGES
