In Ota-Porto, in the south of the French island of Corsica, storm Ciaran leaves a trail of destruction in its wake, with the historic flooding of the river that runs beneath the village, stranded boats and cars and flooded homes and businesses. IMAGES
The sea is rough and the wind is blowing hard in La Rochelle as Storm Ciaran sweeps across France. One man, a lorry driver, dies in the Aisne and two French departments, Côtes-d'Armor and Manche, are still under a red alert due to severe wind conditions. IMAGES
A tractor clears uprooted trees in Saint-Lormel on France's Brittany coast, after Storm Ciaran battered northern France with record winds of nearly 200 km per hour. Three French departments -- Finistere, Cotes-d'Armor and Manche -- were placed on red storm alert, the highest level, at midnight. IMAGES
Views over the port of Dover, south-east England, as ferries were cancelled due to Storm Ciaran. The powerful autumn storm, which hit parts of north-west Europe overnight, particularly the French coast, recorded record wind gusts before heading north and towards England. IMAGES
Heavy seas batter Stonehaven harbour as Storm Babet hits Scotland's east coast. The images come as a woman died being swept into a river and families were trapped in flooded homes in Scotland. Britain's Met Office has put parts of Dundee and Aberdeenshire under a red weather warning, that will be in place until midday Friday. IMAGES
City workers clear the debris after Storm Poly hit Amsterdam this morning, causing major disruption and closing public transport and highways. All trains, buses and trams were stopped and 400 flights from Schiphol were cancelled as a result of the region's strongest summer storm on record. Fallen trees closed roads and damaged power lines and an Amsterdam tram collided with a delivery van at the height of the storm. Police say one person has been killed. IMAGES
