Israeli forces continue to battle Hamas militants in southern Gaza, while the military branch of the Palestinian Islamist group says it has fired rockets towards southern Israel. IMAGES
People, including families of hostages held in Gaza, hold a rally in Tel Aviv as Israel and Hamas resume fightings. Both sides blamed each other for the breakdown of the truce, which before it expired had enabled the release of 80 Israeli hostages in exchange for 240 Palestinian prisoners.
