A series of strikes hit the northern Gaza Strip as rockets are intercepted above the Israeli border city of Sderot, on the third day after a seven-day truce in the Israel-Hamas war expired. Israel carries out deadly bombardments in Gaza on Sunday as international calls mounted for greater protection of civilians and the renewal of an expired truce with Palestinian militant group Hamas.
