River islands submerged after heavy floods in northern Argentina

Description

Heavy rain and floods have left river islands and swathes of land in the province of Corrientes in northern Argentina underwater, causing deaths and forcing thousands to evacuate. Officials have laid the blame for the extreme weather on the El Nino phenomenon, is typically associated with warming ocean surface temperatures in the central and eastern tropical Pacific Ocean.
