Shots are heard from a street close to Lamizana military camp in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso's capital. Gunfire has broken out at several army barracks in Burkina Faso and internet connections were disrupted, prompting fears of a coup in the notoriously volatile west African state which the government quickly denied. French officers hand over the keys to a military base in the Malian city of Timbuktu, after a nearly nine-year deployment.
