China switched on the world's largest floating solar farm, located a small distance from the city of Huainan in the eastern Anhui province, in May. Local authorities decided to implement the project after a coal mining operation flooded, leading to questions about how best to use the site. The floating solar farm itself was built by Chinese manufacturer Sungrow Power Supply, at its full capacity of 40 megawatts, the plant can provide electricity for more than 15,000 homes.
The world’s longest sea crossing, which connects Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao, has now opened to the public. The bridge spans over 55 km (34 miles) and includes 23 km of bridges, 6.7 km of tunnels, and two artificial islands. The new construction cuts the time of road travel between Hong Kong and Zhuhai from four hours to just 40 minutes. However, drivers can only access the bridge after receiving a special permit from the authorities.

Seattle-based Starbucks opened the doors to its biggest ever shop in Shanghai on Wednesday, which features three brew bars, augmented reality tech, lavish design, and coffee, lots of coffee. The spacious 'reserve roastery,' which can serve up to 7,000 customers a day and up to 1,000 people at one time, is the second of its type in the world, after Starbucks opened its first version in Seattle in 2014.

Construction of the the Akademik Lomonosov, a huge watercraft which will become the world’s first floating nuclear power plant, is nearing completion at the Baltic Shipyard in St. Petersburg, Russia. The Akademik Lomonosov is designed to sail to areas on Russia's northern coast which are difficult to reach by land but still need power. It will replace an old nuclear station called Bilibino in Russia's remote Chukotka region.
