Subscribe for more car videos: http://bit.ly/15DV2NN intervention to correct unintentional lane changes even with a broken line. The new improved version of the Active Lane Keeping Assist is now also able to intervene should the driver inadvertently cross a broken line when there is a risk of a collision. The system uses the information from the radar system to detect when the adjacent lane is not clear. The radar system has been supplemented by a sensor at the rear, which works in unison with the other sensors in the front and rear bumpers. The Active Lane Keeping Assist is not only capable of recognising critical situations such as overtaking vehicles, parallel traffic and parking vehicles, it can also respond effectively to oncoming traffic. If the system detects the risk of a collision, not only does it cause the steering wheel to vibrate in pulses as a tactile warning for the driver, it intervenes with a lane-correcting brake application on one side via the ESP®. It thereby forms the ideal complement to the Active Blind Spot Assist. Follow us @AutoMotoTV - http://www.twitter.com/AutoMotoTV AutoMoto TV - http://www.youtube.com/AutoMotoTV

  • The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class - Active Lane Keeping Assist and Active Lane Change Assist

The single-louvre radiator grille with chrome-plated trim elements and embedded central star characterises the front. The vertically aligned bars in the radiator grille emphasise the perceived value with their high-gloss black finish. The distinctive front bumper is partly made of dark grey, grained plastic, which emphasises the robust character of this model. Underneath it is a simulated underride guard in high-gloss chrome. This C-Class variant has wheel arch liners in matt dark grey on the front wing and on the rear side wall. The model-specific trim on the side skirts contrasts visually with the painted body surfaces in this colour and finish. An additional chrome trim strip is integrated into the side member trim. Exclusive wheel designs in sizes from 17 to 19 inches are available for the All-Terrain. At the rear, the newly designed multi-section bumper, the model-specific, chrome-plated load sill guard and the simulated underride guard underline the special nature of this vehicle. As the All-Terrain models are based on the AVANTGARDE exterior, the waistline trim, side window surrounds and roof railings are finished in polished aluminium. The trim on the B-pillars and the bars on the rear side windows are in high-gloss black. If equipped with the Night Package, further features (e.g. E-line, waistline, outside mirrors) and trim elements at the front and rear (simulated underride guard at the front and rear, as well as the load sill protection) are in high-gloss black.

Immendingen has a key role in the development of the mobility of the future: this is where Mercedes-Benz Cars is consolidating its worldwide vehicle testing, including the further development of alternative drives such as hybrids and electric vehicles under the product and technology brand EQ. Future assistance systems and automated driving functions are also tested here. The Test and Technology Center Immendingen was officially opened in September 2018 after a construction time of around three and a half years. Immendingen is located in Baden-Württemberg, 130 kilometres to the south of Stuttgart and 40 kilometres to the north of Radolfzell on Lake Constance.

  • Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Safety Workshop - Active Lane Keeping Assist and Blind Spot Assist

Flexible, reliable and above all, safe: The new Sprinter, presented in 2018, embodies all these attributes to perfection. With the third generation of the iconic van, Mercedes-Benz Vans also underscores its role as an innovation driver and pioneer in the introduction of modern safety technologies in the large van segment. That's why the new Sprinter is also equipped with a whole range of optional safety and assistance systems which, until now, were reserved exclusively for Mercedes-Benz passenger car model series. Among them, the radar-based systems Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Brake Assist and Active Lane Keeping Assist. The optional Parking Package with 360-degree camera makes a further contribution towards relieving stress on the driver. Crosswind Assist is, of course, on board as standard, making driving considerably safer at higher speeds e.g. on motorways. Advanced safety and assistance systems play a particularly important role in the large van segment. Vehicles used for commercial purposes are often in daily use, cover great distances and, despite their comparatively large dimensions, must remain controllable even in difficult situations. In order to be optimally prepared for the various transport tasks and driving profiles, the safety and assistance systems in the new Sprinter have been technologically optimised. Evolution in comparison to the passenger car sector includes, for example, adaptation to vehicle dimensions, handling parameters and trip profiles in everyday fleet life.
