"En Martinique, on ne s'attendait pas à un ouragan d'une telle force"

"Il y a 33.000 foyers d'électricité, on a subi des vents violents avec des rafales à plus de 120 km/h, une forte houle, des inondations". Guillaume Kuster, journaliste et formateur, est actuellement à Fort-de-France, en Martinique, touchée par l'ouragan Maria. Joint par "l'Obs" au milieu de la nuit, il se veut rassurant : "La préfecture n'a pas signalé de victimes pour le moment, et les dégâts restent apparemment limités. Mais il faut attendre le lever du jour pour avoir une vue globale exacte de la situation". Le journaliste raconte que "les habitants avaient bien respecté les consignes de confinement, les rues étant restées désertes", et il estime que "les autorités ont réagi assez vite". L'œil du cyclone est passé à 50 km des côtes du nord de la Martinique et le mur de l'œil du cyclone, qui concentre des vents très forts, n'a pas touché l'île.
