Lawyer Up: Trump's Legal Counsel Michael Cohen To Testify Before Sen. Intel Comm

Description

While headlines scream out the story that former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort was the subject of a government wiretap, the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election rolls on. Next up to bat is Donald Trump’s longtime personal attorney, Michael Cohen. According to RedState.com, Cohen is appearing before the Senate Intelligence Committee Tuesday in a closed-door session. Presumably, he'll testify about Trump’s business ties to Russia. The attorney is seen as a key figure in the myriad investigations into election meddling. That's thanks to both to his work on a proposed Trump Tower deal in Moscow, and his appearance in a shadowy, unconfirmed dossier full of jaw-dropping and salacious allegations about Trump and Russia.

The coterie includes conspiracist lawyer Sidney Powell, disgraced former national security adviser Michael Flynn, and onetime chief strategist Steve Bannon. Other voices in Trump's ear are those from hawkish trade adviser Peter Navarro and the eccentric founder of the retail website Overstock.
