Images from North Korean state media show the launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile, which was fired amid joint military drills conducted by the United States and South Korea.
North Korea's state broadcaster shows images of a vast military parade for the founding anniversary of North Korea's armed forces. Leader Kim Jong Un said at the parade the country will rapidly accelerate the development of its nuclear arsenal, state media reported. IMAGES

According to the Associated Press, Kim has ordered the execution of at least two people, locked down the capital of Pyongyang, and implemented other measures to slow the spread of COVID-19. One of the two people who were executed was a well-known money changer in Pyongyang, who was reportedly blamed for North Korea's falling exchange rate.
