Mexico City, Sep 26 (EFE).- Thousands of protesters on Sunday joined the families of 43 students of the Ayotzinapa Rural Teachers' College, who were forcibly disappeared in 2014, in a demonstration in the heart of Mexico City to demand justice on the seventh anniversary of the tragedy.The march was led by families of the 43 students, with signs and T-shirts showing the faces of their missing loved ones and the slogan "we are missing 43". San Salvador, Nov 16 (EFE).- El Salvador on Monday marked the 31st anniversary of the massacre of six Jesuit priests and two women on Nov. 16, 1989 - a notorious episode in that Central American country's civil war.The 31st anniversary of the massacre of six Jesuit priests, five of them Spanish, and two women, was marked by a setback in the judicial case, after the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court order to close the perpetrators. On the night of Nov. 16, 1989, a unit of the Salvadoran army's elite Atlacatl Battalion slaughtered Spanish priests Ignacio Ellacuria, Segundo Montes, Ignacio Martin-Baro, Amando Lopez and Juan Ramon Moreno, and Salvadoran Jesuit Joaquin Lopez. Also slain were their cook, Elba Ramos, and her 16-year-old daughter.The only person still behind bars for the massacre is Col. Yangon, Aug 8 (EFE/EPA).- Myanmar on Saturday marked the 32nd anniversary of the pro-democracy student protests that swept the nation in 1988, resulting in the deaths and imprisonment of thousands of people.Several ceremonies across the country commemorated the People Power Movement or 8888 Uprising, named for for the events that peaked on Aug. 8, 1988.The 8888 Uprising began in Mar. 1988 as a student movement in Yangon against the socialist one-party state under dictator General Ne Win who drove his country into poverty.The demonstrators were also denouncing government corruption, economic mismanagement and police brutality.It has only been in recent years that people have been allowed to openly commemorate the 8888 Uprising.
