Madrid, Nov 25 (EFE), (Camera: Manuel Única).- Spain's Equality minister Irene Montero led the celebrations on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on Wednesday outside the Ministry of Equality in Madrid.FOOTAGE OF MINISTER IRENE MONTERO AND OTHER WOMEN OBSERVING A MINUTE-SILENCE ON WEDNESDAY.
Dozens of couples danced the tango on the the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which is marked on November 25. The date relates to the murder of three political activists, sisters Mirabal, Patria, Minerva, Maria Teresa. At the event, the female participants wore red shoes which were emblematic of the issue being protested worldwide, while the male participants carried red roses.
