Dozens of bald men competed in Japan's national bald championship in Japan's Aomori Prefecture on Saturday in one of the strangest competitons that we've seen to date. Members of the Bald Head Club battled it out with a unique game of tug-of-war, where each participant sticks a suction cup onto their scalp and attempts to pull their opponent's off via the taught rope that connects them. This year's winner Akio Narita took home ¥50,000, or about $7500.
Ready, steady, pull! Thousands of participants grabbed one end of the rope in the annual Naha Tug-on-war festival in Naha city, Japan over the weekend and pulled with all their might and muster in an event that was officially declared the largest tug-of-war ever fought. 17 team members had spent some 40 days in order to prepare the 656 foot rope, which was also recognised by Guinness Book of World Records as the largest straw rope ever made.

NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg says it is "not too late" for Ukraine to win the war, promising President Volodymyr Zelensky that more support is on the way to Kyiv as Russian forces advance. "Ukraine has been outgunned for months, forced to ration its ammunition... But it's not too late for Ukraine to prevail," the NATO secretary general says at a press conference with Zelensky. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken says he raised concerns with China about support for Russia, saying Moscow's invasion of Ukraine depended on Beijing's support.
