First lady Melania Trump and President Donald Trump's adult children have been avoiding the spotlight since the violent events unfolded this week. And according to Business Insider, a White House source says that Melania is mentally 'checked out' and doesn't want to 'get involved' anymore. As a mob of Trump supporters broke into the US Capitol on Wednesday, Mrs. Trump chose to focus on finishing a photoshoot for her coffee table book. The book is about decorative items she's restored in the president's residence since her husband took office four years ago. A source familiar with the first lady's schedule says Mrs. Trump was busy overseeing the photographing of rugs and other items in the West Wing.
When it comes to getting people to get their checkbooks out to contribute to a presidential reelection campaign, having a first lady speak is a deal-closer. But according to CNN, America's current FLOTUS, First lady Melania Trump, is giving stumping a miss this season. In a historic break from precedent, Mrs. Trump has yet to set foot on the campaign trail this year even as her husband, President Donald Trump, fights for votes. Her absence is particularly likely to be felt when Trump appeals to suburban White women, whom he has openly begged to 'love' him. Business Insider reports Stephanie Winston Wolkoff is being sued by the Department of Justice. The suit follows Wolkoff's publication of a tell-all about the 'rise and fall' of her 15-year friendship with first lady Melania Trump on September 1. The DOJ claims that the publication of the book was in violation of a nondisclosure agreement she signed. Wolkoff is a former special events planner for Vogue and helped plan President Donald Trump's inauguration in 2017. She was fired from the White House in 2018 after a scandal involving spending on the inauguration. Wolkoff claims that after the 2016 RNC convention, First Lady Melania Trump felt someone was trying to sabotage her. Trump became suspicious when it was revealed parts of a speech she made had been plagiarized from a 2008 speech by Michelle Obama.
Former New Jersey governor Chris Christie was released from the hospital on Saturday. Business Insider reports Christie emerged after a week-long stay to fight COVID-19. Christie aided President Trump in debate preparations and attended the White House Rose Garden event announcing the president's Supreme Court nominee. Dr. Anthony Fauci has since labeled the gathering at the Rose Garden 'a super-spreader event.' Christie said that he would reveal more about his current condition in the coming days.
