Travel firm Thomas Cook has expressed regret for the deaths of two British children on one of its holidays in 2006. As Helena Williams reports it's seeking to end damaging headlines over its handling of the case.
Apple CEO Tim Cook's pay package totaled $14.7 million last year. Business Insider reports that's around a 28% jump from 2019. Apple disclosed in its annual proxy statement on Tuesday. Cook's compensation included a base salary of $3 million, $10.7 million in performance-based pay. He also received nearly $1 million in travel and security expenses.
Up to 15% of all COVID-19 deaths globally may be linked to long-term exposure to air pollution. In addition, 18% of fatalities caused by the virus in the United States are linked to it as well. This means that air pollution may have played a role in roughly 40,000 of the more than 220,000 deaths.
