Beijing, Oct 18 (EFE/EPA).- China's gross domestic product (GDP) grew 4.9 percent year-on-year in the third quarter, down from the 7.9 percent growth in the second, official data published Monday showed.The third-quarter growth is slightly lower than expected by analysts, who had forecast the economy to grow by around 5 percent.The growth eased to 0.2 percent in July-September from 1.3 percent in the second quarter. Euro zone business growth was at its weakest since the start of last year in August, suggesting the bloc's already struggling economy is losing what little momentum it had. As Sonia Legg reports, even Germany services growth slowed more than expected in August suggesting Europe's biggest economy may be losing steam.
