Migrants attempting the treacherous Channel crossing arrive at the southeastern English coast in a small boat, before being taken into the custody of the British border force in Dover. More than 100,000 migrants have crossed the Channel on small boats from France to southeast England since Britain began publicly recording the arrivals in 2018, official figures revealed on August 11. A group of 73 migrants mainly from Bangladesh are rescued by an Italian Guardia di Finanza vessel in the Mediterranean sea and brought to Lampedusa.
