Michigan's Attorney General Sues Two Companies Over Flint Water Crisis

Description

On Wednesday, Bill Schuette, Michigan's attorney general, filed a lawsuit against two companies, accusing them of causing and exacerbating Flint's lead tainted water crisis. The city of nearly 100,000 has been struggling with poor water quality since switching to the Flint River for water resources in April of 2014 instead of the Detroit system which draws from Lake Huron. Last September state officials admitted to a failure to add chemicals that would limit corrosion resulting in the river water scraping lead from aging pipes therefore exposing contaminated water to people's homes and the schools of children. At least 10 people died from the contaminated water.
