An unidentified gunman was shot dead by German police after he took several people hostage at a movie theater yesterday.
US President Barack Obama called for unity following the fatal shooting of three police officers in Baton Rouge during a press conference in Washington DC on Sunday. Addressing the recent police deaths in Dallas , the president said that "five days ago I travelled to Dallas for the memorial service of the officers who were slain there. I said that, that killer would not be the last person who tries to make us turn on each other nor will today's killer. It remains up to us to make sure that they fail."

A hospital was put on lockdown after reports of an active shooter sparked panic in San Francisco’s Mission District Wednesday afternoon, reported CBS San Francisco.
Three people were killed and nine injured on Thursday night after a man opened fire inside a movie theatre in Lafayette, Louisiana.The 59-year-old gunman was sitting alone inside Grand 16 Theatre at a screening of the movie Trainwreck. Twenty minutes into the movie, he stood up and opened fire with a semiautomatic handgun.
