Nigel Farage says he will stand as a candidate for the anti-immigration Reform UK party at the UK general election next month, after initially ruling out running. "I have changed my mind... I am going to stand," Farage, 60, told a news conference. Farage, a Eurosceptic politician and now a television presenter, campaigned for decades for Britain's withdrawal from the European Union and was a key figure in the 2016 Brexit referendum. He is a former leader of the Brexit Party and the anti-immigration party UKIP. SOUNDBITE
The European Parliament votes overwhelmingly to approve the Brexit deal with London, clearing the final hurdle for Britain's departure from the EU. The vote at the parliament in Brussels passes by 621 to 49, prompting MEPs to burst into a chorus of "Auld Lang Syne", a traditional Scottish song of farewell. IMAGES
