Olympic chief Thomas Bach says that a decision on Russian and Belarusian participation at next year's Paris Olympics will be taken "at the appropriate time". President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach wants ‘clean’ Russian athletes to compete under a neutral flag at the 2018 PyeonChang Winter Olympic Games he said at a press conference in Lausanne on Wednesday. On Tuesday, the IOC banned Russia from competing at the 2018 Winter Olympics, following an investigation into allegations of state-sponsored doping at Sochi in 2014. The Russian Olympic Committee denies the allegations.
Figure Skating Trainer Tatyana Tarasova was visibly distressed as she reacted to the IOC's decision to ban the Russian team from the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Moscow on Tuesday. The International Olympic Committee has found Russia guilty of state-sponsored doping and has banned the Russian Olympic Committee from competing. Clean athletes will be allowed to compete in the upcoming 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, although not under the Russian flag.
