Dozens of protesters marched through Philadelphia on Tuesday in protest against the nomination of Hillary Clinton as the official presidential candidate for the Democrats at the Democratic National Convention. The protesters, many of whom were members of groups such as 'Democracy Spring,' 'Black Lives Matter' and 'Bernie or Bust,' scuffled with police as they marched towards Wells Fargo Center where the DNC was taking place.
Hundreds of Bernie Sanders supporters gathered in Vermont Park, outside Philadelphia on Sunday, to hold a rally in support of the Senator just before the Democratic National Convention, despite the fact that Sanders has already endorsed Clinton. The crowd heard impassioned speeches from actors Susan Sarandon and Danny Glover, who backed Sanders throughout his ultimately unsuccessful bid for Democratic presidential nomination.
